Q. What is Apriliafutura.co.uk for?
A. It's not easy having a rare motorcycle like the Futura and online forums have a few disadvantages. Useful nuggets of information get lost as threads die, therefore the solution is to put as much information as possible on web pages where it easily be found. So the website will include a lot of technical information, as well as linking out to where information can be found elsewhere on the web. It will also be a place to publicise Futura meets in the UK (at least to start with) and an online reference to everything to do with the Futura.
Q. So you want to replace Apriliaforum.com or any other sites?
A. Not at all. This site is intended to stand alongside all other information on the web and will link out to a lot of content. It's intended to answer questions that come up time and again on the Apriliaforum, as new people come to the Futura through the second hand market. In many cases, the site will provide an overview of a particular topic, and then invite users to visit specific threads on the forum for more detailed information. In a sense, part of its function is to index content on the Apriliaforum. There are no plans for apriliafutura.co.uk to host its own forums (I'm busy enough, thanks!).
Q. Are you being paid by Aprilia/a dealer/anyone else to do this?
A. No. The site is completely independent, impartial and honest as well as built up with the knowledge and experience of many Futura owners. The aim is to help and links to suppliers will only be there because several riders have recommended them.
Q. Can I Contribute to the Apriliafutura.co.uk?
A. Yes please! In particular I'm looking for information on modifications, how to guides, product reviews, Futura trip reports, photo gallery submissions and links. See this page for more information.
Q. Will the site be kept up to date and developed?
A. Yes. The site will launch with a lot of pages, but it will expand according to demand and other people's input. Eventually it will be moved into a content management system. The aim is to start small and build it up over time.
You can find out about the latest updates and new features on the site on this page.
Q. You'll get bored and stop updating it when you sell the bike and then pull the plug, right?
A. I don't plan to sell the bike but if I did want to stop for whatever reason I would be happy to hand the website over rather than let it die.
