Aprilia Futura – front and rear brake discs

These are the specs of the Aprilia Futura’s brake discs:

Front brake 298 mm diameter Brembo stainless steel double floating disc. Floating four-pot calipers with differentiated diameter, 34 and 30 mm; pads in sintered material and Freudenberg brake tubes

Rear brake: 255 mm diameter stainless steel disc; floating two-pot calipers, 28 mm diameter; Freudenberg brake lines.

Many owners have beefed them up by fitting 320mm front discs from the (Showa suspension) Mille, Falco or Tuono. You also need the front forks to mount the calipers. There’s more information on the suspension page.

Warped brake discs?

If the worst has happened and your discs are toast, then you’ll have to find a replacement.  They are still available through most Aprilia resellers:

The Brembo part number (not verified) is 08.4899.76. The rotors Brembo make for the Yamaha TZ250 (1989-1995) part no. 108.YA02.30 reportedly fit.  However, they are no longer available on the Brembo website.

If you have any luck with this part number, let me know.
